Haitian Veve Tracing Book

Our tradition. Our memory. Our power.

The Veve is the foundation of Haitian spirituality. Rooted in and inherited from the Taíno which is more than 100 000 years old, it was harmonized with 21 African nations after the Haitian Revolution to become one nation: Haitians.

A Veve is a direct line connecting us to our ancestors and to the forces of nature, helping us on our life journey. Each symbol is tied to a force that supports us in our daily lives: balance, protection, growth, wisdom, healing, and connection. When we trace a Veve with a clear mind and pure intention, we are saying: I see you. I honor you. I am aligned with you.

The Haitian Veve Tracing Book puts these symbols in your hands so that you and your children can learn them through repetition and keep the tradition visible in your home. There is nothing to fear. This is our heritage. This is our identity.
